Welcome to the Albert Memorial Bridge
"The longest bridge (840 feet) spanning the shortest body of water (Wascana Creek)" in the world
Original idea was to dedicate this bridge to the fallen soldiers of World War I
'Although spaces were provided for the installation of the plaques of the province's war dead,
they were never utilized'
Built in 1930 as a public relief program that was created in response to the crash of the
stock market in 1929 also known as the Great Depression
This build employed over 700 men

'Regina' is the latin word for Queen
Queen Victoria

'The bridge is Highly decorated with Egyptian motifs' including the above glazed terra cotta balusters
Can you see the lotus flowers and the papyrus plants?!
