Robert McKee

ALECK AMBLER (1884 - 1974)
13th Battalion Royal Highland Regiment

Ambler was an accomplished stonemason, who enlisted in 1916.
He survived the Vimy assault while serving as a sniper



Because the soldiers bunked three high in the caves, some carvings were
high up on the walls. These names were the highest at 12 feet (almost 4 metres)

The museum had a display of replica cave carvings from England created during the first world war.
Only recently discovered. Which were then featured on the History Channel a couple of months before my trip
This was the main reason for attending the museum

The museum's exterior was uninspiring, so I took a picture of the
 'Castle" Court house next door instead

   Some of you may know that I visited my sister this past March in London, Ontario.
 I wish the weather had been warmer so she and I could have taken in more of the sights that her temporary home had to offer.
We did brave the cold (mitts/hats & scarfs cold) on the days that we went to the Museum & to Western University. Where she is currently in her last semester studying (Masters of )Library Sciences
