Hoi An is known for it's hand made lanterns, marble sculptures, amazing tailor shops
and it's architecture

Japanese Covered Bridge or Cau Chua Pagoda
One of Hoi An's most famous tourist attractions
Was constructed in the 1590's by Hoi An's Japanese community
It was constructed with a roof to provide shelter from
both rain and sun

Meet Sun Yu the loveliest & perhaps the smallest tailor in Hoi An
I am standing on the street she is standing on a high curb
Sun Yu measured me at 9 am (free day) had us return at 1pm for a fitting and then came back to
her shop at 5 to pick up my hand made silk tunic and pant set. In the traditional Vietnamese style
I've never had such a beautiful outfit made just for me in my life
In hindsight I should have chosen a jersey knit or cotton blend instead, that way I could wear the tunic all the time
if I so desired.
I have worn it a couple of times it feels wonderful on
By far the best $50 dollars I've ever spent!

Some of the intricate wooden design of the main hallway
in the Ancient House
One thing I noticed right away about this house was how incredibly
dark it was. Everything including the floor, walls and ceiling were made up
of this dark wood. Only when you came to the open courtyard were you able to
actually see the real beauty of this house

Glen is standing in the open courtyard of the Ancient house pictured below
The year marks on the post show how high the Thu Bon river flooded...1964 was the
worst year yet

Quan Thang Ancient House, Interactive Museum
Created in the architecture style of Hoa Ha, China
Merchant class owner Captain Quan Thang had it built in the early 18th century
One of the many open homes in this former French Colonial port
