Say hello to Daaling as he talks about

102 chapels within the Jayavarman VII empire'
Built 1186

Now leaving the temple...

over the moat...

Reverse of the 'Seven Headed' serpent or "Naga" that
forms a stone balustrade beside the walkway

Front of the seven headed serpent
It represents power, water and fertility.

Did you know that although there is no charge for the local people to visit, 90% of them have never been here

On our way out I discovered a beautiful row of stone windows

This stunning design may end up on our living room wall
I think it's simply beautiful!

Another stone window.

I tried to get as many pictures without people as I could

Each of the four towers have a shrine to their Gods
These are the only areas of color

Currently waiting in a long line to climb the pyramid stone stairway to
the second level of the complex.
Did you remember to dress respectfully this morning?
No shoulders or knees showing.
And yes, tourists were being refused entry
They should have listened to their tour guide.
Thank you Daaling
Steep stairs to Heaven...
Thankfully the stairs that we actually climbed
were metal and built over top of the stone ones

This tower is called a 'Library'
There are four Libraries (towers) in a square formation surrounding the main temple

This picture shows just how high up you actually are.
It also shows the surrounding wall
